The album itself was recorded live during a January 2015 residency at The Whistler in Chicago. They soon began meeting at Bill's southwest Chicago home to write and improvise together. In 2015, Walker also released an instrumental album entitled 'Land of Plenty', recorded in collaboration with fellow Chicago musician Bill MACKAY, whom he met in January 2014 at a friend's birthday party. In 2014 he released his debut album 'All Kinds of You' on the Tompkins Square label, and followed it early in 2015 with 'Primrose Green', released on Dead Oceans - an album which included guest appearances by several noted Chicago jazz and experimental musicians such as Fred LONBERG-HOLM. Ryley WALKER is a Prog Folk artist who began his career in Chicago's independent music scene in the early 2010s, releasing several cassette EPs and a vinyl EP.
